Conservation of iberian imperial eagle in Portugal

Exclusive of the Iberian Peninsula, it is one of the most endangered birds of prey in Europe and is among the rarest in the world.

After an absence as a breeder of about 20 years, the iberian imperial Eagle returned to Portugal in 2003.

LIFE Imperial Project is an opportunity to restore the national population of iberian imperial Eagle, creating conditions for its increase through a set of conservation actions.

These actions aim to reduce the impact of threats on the species, contributing to their long-term conservation.
