The aim of these actions is the planning and preparation of the foreseen concrete conservation actions, as well as the elaboration of plans and research. These actions encompass a set of activities which, by producing information and/or practical recommendations, support the execution of the Project and ensure an effective implementation of the targeted conservation actions.
The nine preparatory actions of the LIFE Imperial project include, for example, the identification of management measures in the territories of the Iberian Imperial Eagle, studies on the diet and productivity of the species, the assessment of prey availability and of the presence of other predators in their territories. These actions also entail a transfer of knowledge between Portugal and Spain of the experience gained in the management of this species and the fight against its main threats.
