BIOLOGY

The Iberian Imperial Eagle, once it reaches reproductive age, is a sedentary and territorial bird, living on average around 16 years.

After becoming independent, juveniles start a dispersal period that leads them to move away from where they were born. In this phase, they usually establish themselves in areas where prey is abundant and, after a relatively long period, tend to return to their places of origin, where they try to settle as breeders.
