DISTURBANCE IN NESTING AREAS

This threat is caused by agricultural, forestry, pecuary, and cinegetic activities, as well as touristic activities such as birdwatching, photography and nature sports, among others.

These activities may pose a serious threat to the species when done near the nests, especially during the breeding season (between February and August). This period is particularly sensitive for the species, and these activities may constraint the breeding pairs settling down, lead to the abandonment of nests with eggs or chicks and/or lead the chicks to prematurely leave the nests.

In order to avoid any negative impact of tourism and nature photography on the conservation of the Iberian Imperial Eagle, the definition of responsible conduct practices is fundamental: CODE OF CONDUCT.

Help us minimize the potential threat of photography and nature tourism when made near the nests. Please note and share this messages, don´t risk it!
